Xiaomi 12 Pro Review

The Xiaomi 12 Pro is the next-generation flagship device, having high-end hardware and a gorgeous display is being declared as Galaxy S22+ rival. Being one of the most balanced phones around with blazing-fast charging under $1000 but it’s not without its flaws, missing out on a good camera zoom and a software that further slows the overall experience.

Xiaomi 12 Pro Price and Availability

Xiaomi 12 Pro price in Pakistan is Rs. 208,999 for 8GB RAM 128GB storage option. It is also having the option of 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, pricing of this higher-capacity model will be confirmed soon. The Xiaomi 12 Pro undermines phones with higher prices like the iPhone 13 Pro Max, Oppo Find X5 Pro, and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. The Xiaomi 12 is expected to releases on April 15.

Xiaomi 12 Pro Design

Xiaomi 12 Pro has taken the 12 series in more premium direction. As compared to the square-circle camera of Xiaomi Mi 11, the surround is now a more mature rounded rectangle in Xiaomi 12 Pro. Xiaomi still continues with its conservative design with the frosted back that has now a silken glossy finish. It has velvety touch and supremely fingerprint resistant which are available in blue, gray, and purple, none are eye-popping or bright, which are slightly muted and looks refined.

It is a slim and elegant phone at 8.2mm and weight is 205g which is same as iPhone 13 Pro. It is curved glass and metal phone with Gorilla Glass Victus display while the frame is a matte. Xiaomi doesn’t have an IP rating for the 12 Pro, meaning it isn’t certified for dust and water resistance but there is no issue if it gets dipped in water and the screen’s touch sensitivity works great even when being pelted by water droplets or handled with wet fingers. The power and volume buttons are on the right, and a dual-SIM slot is at the base. On the front is curved glass and screen, while at the back is a stepped camera.

Xiaomi 12 Pro Display

Xiaomi has reduced the screen sizes for its 12 series with Xiaomi 12 Pro having 6.73 inches while last year’s Mi 11 has a 6.81-inch screen. The 12 Pro has Samsung LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi claims the refresh rate ranging between 1-120Hz, which results in battery saving as compared to phones like Galaxy S22 Plus, whose screen drops down to 48Hz at lowest. You may set the refresh rate to 90Hz, and the resolution to 1080p (at a software level), so you can save battery life.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro’s screen has WQHD+ resolution, giving it a pixel density of 521PPI which is higher in comparison with iPhone 13 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus; and with a sharp brightness to most phones at 1500 nits, HDR10+ video looks tremendous, and outdoor viewability is adjustable automatically. Colors are shown precisely with variety of displays with granular command over colour and white balance than most competitors.

Xiaomi 12 Pro Cameras

Although the Xiaomi 12 Pro’s camera is one of the weakest of any flagship. Its optical zoom has less reach than the lower-cost Pixel 6 Pro. The phone’s ultra-wide camera also lacks autofocus due to which you cannot lock on focus but triple 50MP camera works great, with smart software helping it capture reliably good results, even though not being class-leading. Xiaomi 12 Pro’s primary 50MP camera is powered by an IMX707 Sony sensor. Measuring 1/1.28 inches, while it isn’t as large as the 1/1.12 sensor in the Mi 11 Ultra, it’s still one of the biggest camera sensors on the market, bigger in size than that of the Galaxy S22 Ultra and Sony Xperia Pro-I. Video capture on the Xiaomi 12 Pro is great in bright ambiance, with image stabilization working well in 8K resolution, or 4K at 60 frames per second.

Xiaomi 12 Pro Performance and Specs

Xiaomi 12 Pro is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, with an impressive performance of all apps.12 Pro scoring on average in Benchmarks, around 3600 in GeekBench 5.1 (multi-core), and between 8,000 and 9,899 in 3DMark Wild Life, it is great for non-gaming phones. There’s no SD card slot, just a dual SIM slot, the hon ha enough storage space. With quad speakers sporting Harman Kardon tuning and support for Dolby Atmos, the phone also sounds expansive and loud but when it comes to rounded audio and depth in the bass notes the phone falls behind the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max It is the best version of MIUI to date with great updates in many other features.

Battery and Charging

The Xiaomi 12 Pro’s battery capacity isn’t huge at 4600mAh, but still better than the iPhone 13 Pro Max and S22 Plus. Performance mode enhances gaming with more battery usage while Battery Saver shuts off background processes, and Ultra Battery Saver disables all except the most basic features of the phone. With the fastest charging of any widely available smartphone Xiaomi 12 Pro climbs up to 120W for a full charge in under 20 minutes. Xiaomi can also wirelessly charge at around double the rate an iPhone 13 Pro charges with a wire.
