Design

Tecno has few similarities with Camon 19 and the Spark 9 lines but the monolithic camera islands have been replaced with this significantly bigger large dual camera lens at the back of the phone.

Build: The build materials are front glass, plastic frame, and plastic back. The Camon 19 Pro’s flat sides and rounded corners are somewhat similar to iPhone, which makes it is comfortable to hold. The 204-gram body is well balanced and lightweight. The 166.8 x 74.6 x 8.6 mm size with bezels is perfectly reasonable. The punch hole for the selfie has a space around the lens, however that is totally fine.

Controls: All of Camon 19 Pro physical buttons are on the right-hand side which include a volume rocker, fingerprint/power button combo. Although power button is too low for the hand which is not ideal because it gets a bit hard to unlock. The bottom bezel has a single speaker on one side, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a main microphone on the other. The USB Type-C port in the middle is wired for USB 2.0 data transfer, which means a maximum of 480 Mbps. It additionally has USB OTG feature for joining a USB thumb drive or HID devices like a mouse and keyboard.

Connectivity: The Camon 19 Pro has Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.2 with LE, GPS, FM radio and NFC with Google Pay support. It is a dual-SIM device with two nano-SIM slots and dual 4G standby. The one prominent omission is an SD card slot.

Display

The Camon 19 Pro has a fairly large 6.8-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 2460 pixels that goes around 395 ppi.

Brightness: The panels that Tecno uses is quite normal and shows an extreme brightness of 479 nits which is usable however it is not ideal in sunlight. There is no “max auto” mode to get higher brightness rather you have to adjust manually.

Colour Adjustent: The Camon 19 Pro doesn’t possess any kind of color modes, settings or adjustments. You have to survive with DCI-P3 color space which is quite wide in its color reproduction.

HDR: As expected, Camon 19 Pro doesn’t support HDR on its display. As a matter of fact, it reports no HDR in software having no decoding capabilities at all. It is guaranteed on the most noteworthy Widevine L1 level, and that implies it ought to hypothetically get to stream content at HD and higher goals. be that as it may, it just offers SD content and has the phone has Widevine L3.

Refresh time: The Camon 19 Pro has a 120Hz refresh rate panel but the pixels are exceptionally slow, producing recognizable blur and smearing while scrolling, especially on better things like text. The selected refresh rate doesn’t appear to influence the reaction time. The Camon 19 Pro has a total of three refresh rate modes: 60Hz, 120Hz and “Auto-switch refresh rate”.

Cameras

The Camon 19 Pro is majestic with a 64MP main camera with OIS and Laser auto focus, a whopping 50MP 2x telephoto camera and a bigger 32MP selfie.

Main Cam: The 64MP, f/1.6 primary camera utilizes a Samsung S5KGWB sensor – 1/1.7″, 0.8µm. Tecno has added OIS and laser autofocus for an even better experience with this sensor. The sensor in addition has RGBW arrangement, in which light capturing quality is way better. The camera has a real glass lens element rather than a plastic one.

Second Cam: The 50mm 50MP, f/2.0 telephoto camera hass a Samsung S5KJN1 sensor – 1/2.76″, 0.64µm, which is qite famous and is also called ISOCELL JN1. It accompanies a phase detection autofocus with a 2MP depth sensor. Tecno chose not to incorporate a ultrawide.

Front Cam: The 32MP, f/2.4 selfie camera has a Samsung S5KGD2 sensor -1/3.4″, 0.8µm, which is also used in Samsung Galaxy A52 5G and the Tecno Camon 18 Premier. The sensor has fixed focus and no other extravagant features.

Videos: Videos recording is in h.264 AVC video and stream at 50 Mbps with a stereo 48 kHz AAC audio stream inside an MP4 container. So, pretty much the typical setup. These 1440p clips look good with a solid amount of detail and good, even if slightly muted colors.

Performance and software

The Camon 19 Pro runs on the latest Android 12 with Tecno’s in-house HiOS 8.6 on top. The experience is overall good.

RAM: The feature list as a new addition, MemFusion, which is virtual RAM. The Camon 19 Pro has 8GB of physical RAM chips on board and can be increased to 13GB with another 5GB of virtual memory.

Chipset: MediaTek Helio G96 is the chipset inside the Tecno Camon 19 Pro, which is built on a 12nm process node technology and has a maximum CPU frequency of 2.05GHz. For gaming and graphic purpose, it has the Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU and on average the maximum download speed is 1.5Gbps. Performance wise, this chipset is not awesome rater but just good and extensive use can heat up the phone quickly.

Gaming: You cannot play graphic intensive games in very high settings with this chipset as it drops the frame rates.

Comparison: The performance of the Tecno Camon 19 Pro 5Gis better than that of the Infinix Note 12 VIP. But, the likes of Tecno Pova 5G and Infinix Zero 5G still have better performance and if you need a gaming smartphone from Tecno, then you must go for Pova 5G.

Battery and charging

Tecno Camon 19 Pro is fueled by a 5,000mAh battery with support of a 33W fast charge. This phone can be charged from 0 to 100% in about one hour. With full charging, this phone can last for 8 hours and under heavy usage, you get 5 hours. Light users can get more than 24 hours.
