Hot weather leads the PCB to hold the ODI’s in the evening

The three- match ODI series between Pakistan and west Indies is set to commence on June 8 2022 and Rawalpindi will host the series at the Pindi cricket stadium.

As weather forecast indicates that the temperature in Rawalpindi may exceed 40 degrees in the first week of June so PCB decided to combat the heatwave via starting the matches at 5pm instead of 2pm.

Moreover, in order to safeguard the players fully from the hot-spell, PCB is planning to take further steps and exerts that though, by ICC law, only two drinks are allowed per session but Umpires can also permit extra breaks if needs be.

It’s not novel to start the ODI matches in the evening. In 2012 Pakistan hosted Australia in UAE where all 3 ODI’s commenced at 6 pm (local time) and concluded at 1:45 a.m(local time)

Though Rawalpindi will host the series but if political situation gets worsen in federal capital due to PTI call of a long march at the end of the May then Plan B will be put into action and in that case, Multan will host the series at Multan cricket stadium.
