Daylight Murder in Rawalpindi and Family Pleading for State Protection

In a tragic daylight attack in Afshan Colony, property consultant Malik Zahoor fell victim to fatal gunshots, following a series of threats from Ghulam Abbas.

Witnesses, including Malik’s brother Tahir Ashraf, report that Zahoor was preparing to ferry his niece and nephew to school when Ghulam Abbas emerged, firing indiscriminately and subsequently fleeing the scene. The attack is detailed in an FIR at PS Racecourse.

Zahoor’s widow, Munaza Sultana, passionately conveyed that her husband was innocent, highlighting that he had shared concerns about life threats just days prior. She emphasized, “Now, my son and I are in grave danger; he has threatened our lives too.” The bereaved family is urgently seeking state protection.

Tahir recounts a heart-wrenching moment during their rush to the DHQ Hospital, where Malik, amidst his severe injuries, mentioned a possible misapprehension as the reason behind Abbas’s actions. Sadly, Zahoor couldn’t withstand his injuries and succumbed before reaching medical assistance.
