Unilever Collaborates With Akhuwat & NOWPDP to Promote Workplace Inclusiveness
Unilever Pakistan has collaborated with Akhuwat and NOWPDP to create an inclusive and sustainable recruiting process that would provide equal job opportunities throughout the company in Pakistan.
The program’s debut reflects Unilever Pakistan’s long-standing commitment to driving workplace inclusivity. The firm, with a dedicated Diversity & Inclusion team, has carried out various successful efforts to build an inclusive culture throughout its ecosystem, including the use of tools for fair recruiting and particular inclusion targets.
The new program also intends to provide people with special needs and transgender people with the professional skills they need to thrive in corporate jobs. Unilever Pakistan is offering a one-year contract Trainee program to upskill participants and prepare them for entrance into their selected professional positions as part of this aim.
Amir Paracha, Chairman & CEO, Unilever Pakistan highlighted, “Diversity and inclusion are among the greatest catalysts for social and economic change globally, and having a balanced workforce should be a requirement, not an aspiration. We aim to enable equitable opportunities for employment across our value chain and this partnership is yet another milestone for increasing livelihoods for all segments of society.”
Omair Ahmad, CEO NOWPDP also added that, “With grit, we have solicited staunch supporters from the grassroots up and have laid the foundation on which we are able to stand strong. Working towards our mandate of economic empowerment of persons with disabilities, we look forward to creating a more Bashamool Pakistan through our partnership with Unilever.”
NOWPDP promotes an inclusive society by engaging in comprehensive and long-term activities in the fields of education and economic empowerment for people with disabilities. Akhuwat provides economic and social interventions to the transgender population through direct cash help, health care, psychological support, and participation in this training through its Khwajasira Support Program.
