Demarche sent by Pakistan to Indian Diplomat over Blasphemy Against Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H)
After condemning against highly disrespectful remarks against our Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) by two senior officials of Indian Ruling Party BJP, Pakistan has issued a strong demarche over blasphemy to the Indian Charge d’Affaires in Islamabad.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) issued a statement that these remarks are totally unacceptable and have not only deeply hurt the sentiments of the people of Pakistan but Muslims across the world. An Indian diplomat was summoned to convey this strong rejection and condemnation of this disrespectful remark. The MOFA also made it very clear to the official that the belated action taken by BJP government of Inida against the said official cannot alleviate the pain and hurt caused to the Muslims across the world.
Pakistan is very troubled and highly concerned regarding rising communal violence against Muslims in India. They are brutally subjected to onslaught by radical Hindu mobs and systematically stigmatised and disempowered by the support of the security apparatus across various states in India. MOFA also condemned the attempts of depriving Muslims of their centuries old places of worship by quoting shallow claims which clearly shows deep-rooted Islamophobia in Indian society.
MOFA reminded the government of India to take immediate steps or the protection and well-being of its minorities under International Law and allow them to practice their faith in peace. Pakistan calls upon Unite Nations and Organisation of Islamic countries (OIC) to take notice of and stop this dangerously rising ‘Hindutva’ inspired Islamophobia in India.
Following condemnations from Muslims in India and across the world, BJP has suspended the concerned member Nupur Sharma and fired Naveen Kumar Jindal for hateful comments towards our Prophet Hazar Muhammad (P.B.UH)
