Bringing together policymakers from the Ministry of Climate Change, Pak-EPA, and the Capital Development Authority (CDA), alongside Zong’s leadership, the event underscored the impact of multi-stakeholder collaboration in accelerating Pakistan’s green transformation. Active participation from students and media further amplified the message of collective responsibility, fostering broader awareness around environmental protection and sustainable living.

As part of the drive, indigenous and climate-resilient saplings were planted in areas of Shakarparian facing the Islamabad Expressway, focusing on zones that have experienced a decline in green cover. This targeted afforestation effort contributes directly to urban greening, carbon reduction, biodiversity enhancement, and improved air quality in the capital.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Musadik Malik, Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, said. “Greenhouse gas emissions increase temperatures. Trees absorb carbon dioxide and produce essential oxygen. Planting trees is a form of ongoing charity. The trees we plant today will grow to contribute to the nation’s development, economic and environmental progress. Following March 31, large-scale tree plantations will continue, with equal emphasis on protecting the trees.
