Eighteen year old Pakistani girl wins US State Department’s Emerging Young Leaders Award

WASHINGTON: The US Department of State held a ceremony on Wednesday to honour 10 outstanding young leaders from around the world including Dania Hassan from Pakistan. Dania has been honoured for the recognition of her remarkable efforts in promoting positive social change in the education sector of Pakistan.

The 18 year old Pakistani girl established an organization named ” Fun to learn”, after attending her summer school at John’s Hopkins University. Teams of Volunteers conduct extracurricular programs for the underprivileged schools in Pakistan.

Dania Hassan is the youngest high achiever of the Pakistan-US Alumni Network’s “30under30” series.

Senior officials of the State Department, board members of US Pakistan Business Council, and other prominent community members and students also attended the ceremony.
